Busy is bullsh*t.
Plenty of people that are busier than you find a way to do the thing(s) that you are too busy to do. Equally, plenty of people that have less life commitments than you are 'too busy' to do exactly what you are doing.

Everyone is busy. Let's stop using busy as a justification for what we are not doing. If something is important enough to you, you'll move heaven, and earth to make it happen. If you look around, you will find countless examples of people in all warps of life who make sacrifices and go after whatever it is that they need and want to achieve. Still not convinced, if your spouse/child/parent was in a serious accident and rushed to ICU, I am 100% sure that all of your business would very rapidly evaporate, and you'd be moving mountains to get to their hospital bedside post-haste.
Confronting as it may be, time, energy and money, are merely justifications for your level of desire. There is an over supply of people striving, struggling and making sacrifices in the athletic population. Equally I am sure that we can all identify a friend, who has less life commitments, but 'couldn't possibly do what you do', as they are of course far to busy.
If you are only ready, willing and able to make time for three hours of running training a week, that is absolutely fine. However, if that is the case, then I am going to go out on a limb and suggest that running a marathon is not actually a goal, but merely a dream.
What is the difference between a dream and a goal? In simple terms, a dream is something that you'd like to happen, albeit without effort and action. A goal is something you work, strive, struggle, strain and make sacrifices in order to achieve. Your action or inaction is the likely the easiest way to establish whether something is a dream or a goal.
When your dream of running a marathon, becomes a goal, you'll know. In the interim, I suggest you stop using busy as an excuse and openly and honestly set goals that you are ready, willing and able to act on. That might even be the antidote to a fulfilled life. Heck, you might even want to get a bit of David Goggins in your life, and explore the Accountability Mirror.
If you found this confronting, sorry, not sorry. I suggest that you look inward as to what truth strings it triggers. Make a comment below, and share this with your buddies who need some truth.
