Christmas Gift Ideas

With just over a week left up your sleeve, it really is time you did something about buying a Christmas gift for the runner in your life.  Often the reason you’ve left it this late is because that loved one is so hard to buy for!  We all know someone like that….

With that in mind, and no time to waste, we’ve got a helpful list of gift ideas for you to spoil the runner who has everything:

The 10 Minute Mobility Guide. Exclusive to James Kuegler Coaching, this manual is hot off the press and full of innovative and functional mobility and stretching exercises.  Help your loved one find the extra bit of recovery, speed and function that they’re looking for in their running.  The 10 Minute Mobility Guide is a simple and time efficient method for giving runners that little bit of extra attention their body deserves and requires after all of those long and hard miles. Click here.
Pic’s Peanut Butter Slugs. A fantastic little snack to fill you up throughout the day, and an even better option for an energy kick when out on those longer weekend runs.  These gel-sized peanut butter slugs are a delicious and clean source of healthy fats. Click here.

Garmin Forerunner 35. In my opinion, this is the best base model GPS watch on the market.  Now with a built-in heart rate monitor, it has everything the modern runner needs to get the most out of training.  Available in a range of colours, and able to be connected to your phone via bluetooth to upload data and receive notifications, this truly is a wonderful gift of a gadget. Click here.

ResQLink Personal Locator Beacon. If the runner you’re thinking of spends most of their time training in the bush, I suggest this is a must.  A quality personal locator beacon is an essential investment for the committed trail runner.  Buoyant and GPS-enabled, the ResQLink will give someone their best hope for help in a dire situation. Click here.

Mountain Safety Pocket Survival Bag. The $7 item that will save a life.  This is the one essential item that a trail runner – no matter what level – should always carry.  It’s the ideal little stocking filler. Click here.

Marmot PreCip - Seam Sealed Jacket. It moves well, breathes well and keeps the wet out.  An essential item for anyone training in the bush. As a bonus, it’ll pass any standard required for events where a seam sealed jacket with a hood is necessary for entry. Click here.

Vivobarefoot Shoes. There’s 168 hours in a week.  If you sleep for 58 hours, and exercise for 10 hours, that leaves 100 hours for life. I suggest that what you wear on your feet for the 100 hours of life is pretty important in the development of a strong, healthy body. My suggestion is that you look for a shoe for work and life that is flat, flexible, shaped like a foot, and close to the ground. Use the code JamesKueglerCoaching, and you'll get 10% off your purchase. Click here.

Natural Born Heroes. Christopher McDougall. The best-selling author of Born to Run travels to the Mediterranean, where he discovers that the secrets of ancient Greek heroes are still alive and well on the island of Crete, and ready to be unleashed in the muscles and minds of casual athletes and aspiring heroes everywhere.  Available at all good book stores!

BUFF Multifunctional Headwear. The headband come wristband come mask come balaclava come beanie can be worn at least 13 different ways, it’s totally up to the user!  In an awesome range of colours and patterns, this will get a lot of use! Click here.
